Professional Profile & Personal History
I graduated with a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Pacific, Stockton, CA, USA in 1987. In 2003, I was awarded the Certificate of Merit Distinction for Reading For Performance from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). In preparation for the LAMDA examinations, I worked as a freelance coach/Trainer for Voiceworks International Pte Ltd, an English Language Enrichment Course Provider for top tier primary schools in Singapore including St Joseph's Institution, Methodist Girls' School, Catholic High School, Wellington Primary School, Zhang De Primary School and Casuarina Primary School.

I was mentored directly by Dorothy Olga Schooling and received training in the "Reading Discovery" method of teaching children with learning disabilities how to read. During the period 2002 to 2006, under the excellent and invaluable tutelage of Dorothy Schooling, I also ran and spearheaded the "Lifeskills Learning Hub", a course provider for the Reading Clinic, Speech and Drama, Preparatory For Primary One and holiday programmes for the PCF Paya Lebar Education Centre.

I am also trained in the proven methodologies for teaching pre-schoolers and children with learning disabilities how to read. These include "The Write Way to Read", Spalding", "Montessori" and "Marie Clay". While one single method does not seem to work completely when employed on its own, I have found through personal experience that a combination of these different teaching methods work beautifully together. This is because where one method lacks and falls short, other methods are able to fill the gap to complete the learning picture.

Since 2002, the "Reading Discovery" class which is only conducted by myself on a one-to-one basis, has been the "best-seller" course due to its 100% success rate with children with learning disabilities such as Aspergers syndrome, ADHD and Dyslexia. It's not a trophy that I hold up and wave around but the warmth of my welcome to you if your child needs help. A testament to the success of the program is the number of referrals the Lifeskills Learning Hub received from schools across Singapore.

In 2006, I founded the ABC Learning Centre.
